SMELLY TREAT SEASON IS ALMOST HERE!

dog-and-kong-by-oakleyoriginals-thumb-272x300-12718The other day we read this awesome post on GopetFriendlyblog.com called Train Your Dog To Be A Good Dining Companion!

One of the tips they gave, that we think is a PLUS, is to set your dog up for success, by keeping your dog busy, so he is not tuned in to what’s happening around him:

“While you’re eating, why not feed your dog at the same time? By packing his meal into a stuffed Kong, not only will your dog be occupied, but he’ll learn that eating out is very rewarding. And, be sure to hold a few special treats back to reward your dog for not reacting if something that would normally set him off should happen.”

Although we understand that a stuffed Kong is a safe and considerate way to occupy your dog when dining out.  We also say, bring out the SMELLY + MESSY STUFF!

If the idea is to keep your pooch busy and distracted, then why not give them what they LOVE, smelly things! And, they obviously don’t mind getting messy.

If you live in an area with seasons, then you should know that it’s time to STOP depriving your dog of the GOOD STUFF…

…because YOU don’t want to deal with the yucky smell or clean-up in your home…

And to start allowing your pooch to MUNCH down on a STINKY FILLED HOOF or a CHEWY MOOOO TUBE, with plenty of fresh drinking water by his side.

SUMMER is ALMOST in FULL EFFECT!

  1. Thanks so much for mentioning my post – I’m glad you found the tips useful! I just want to add that it could be best to leave the stinkiest, messiest treats for home, since we want to be respectful of the other customers when we take our dogs to eat out. 😉
